First of all SORRY! for the longest time offline, since this blog exists. But the last 6 weeks were so intense. We had to solve the situation with the insolvency of our world distribution and all the consequences. But since today we are again official owners of our own movie.

So hopefully soon all the people who mail us, asking when the movie will be out in the USA and other European countries: This blog will be updated more frequebtly again and give you those informations soon.This also includes the festival situation.

Also we were busy moving out of our office in Munich.

But most important: The movie come to theatres in Germany starting 2nd of July in all major cities. Since we just have a very limited budget for copies. We hope that people cover all seats in the cinemas in Berlin, Munich Cologn and other nice cities in the next 2 weeks, so that we can afford and get booked by more cinemas all over the country.

Press is responding reallly well. A lot of major magazines (kultur-SPIEGEL, Rolling Stone, INTRO, PLAYBOY, etc.), radio shows and TV-stations (NDR, MDR, 3,SAT, BR, etc.) had or will have features in their cultural programs. If the audience is just reacting half as good as media, we should be very confident about the future of the movie.

In expectations to this we are celebrating a PREMIERE PARTY. After the screening in the CENTRAL Kino in BERLIN on the evening of the 2nd of JULY the official premiere party is happening in the WHITE TRASH and is presented by LoDown Magazine. Everybody is welcome and there is no red carpet crap or other completely unneccessary usual premiere-features. Just great DJs, including our friends from GOMMA and lots of beer! COME ON OVER and party with us.

We will also attend certain cinemas in Germany for screenings with a Q&A-session, where you can meet, talk and discuss with us starting at the MOVIEMENTO in Berlin Kreutzberg on this coming Friday the 3rd.

Last Thursday  night we finally had the German premiere. Not the kind of ‘glamour party’ thing – we hope we have this soon with all our friends. It was an offcial screening for the Kassel Dokumentarfilmfest. And again the film proofed to be not just an audience magnet but also a crowd-pleaser. Organizers confirmed that it was the best visited show so far. Almost the entire late-night crowed stayed for a long Q&A. So far it was the most intellectual session.

This all makes us even more excited for the next weekend, when ‘9to5 – Days in Porn’ will be played at the EXGROUND FILMFEST in Wiesbaden on Saturday, the 22nd at 10PM.

So if you are from around Wiesbaden or Frankfurt, try to get tickets. It will probably take some time, until the movie will be released in Germany.

Also check out the bonus scenes we keep putting up on this blog. They are all very exclusive and mostly part of an earlier cut. The last two were from Belldaonna and Aiden, when they made a business trip to San Diego. The next one will be up next week, when we will also have some more news around the movie.

If we ever had any doubts or lack of confidence, the first screenings of 9to5 – Days in Porn at the WORLD FILM FESTIVAL in Montreal just blew them away.

Having our world premiere at an A-festival was already a triumph. But our few days in Canada will be a trip never to be forgotten – we discovered that people didn’t just like the movie; instead, it was selected out of hundreds of films to be shown again on the festivals’ last night among those most requested by the public.

The movie also received its first reviews and so far it was another big ego-builder for us. The number of interviews and the exceptionally positive responses are just two more reasons to feel great.

The next blog will have more detailed information about upcoming festival appearances of 9to5 – Days in Porn. It will be shown in two more continents around the beginning of October.

Related to this, however, we have some pretty sad news. We were invited to screen at the very high-ranked festival in Pusan, South Korea. We had to turn down this great opportunity because it was impossible for us to finance the mandatory 35mm print. We’re still experiencing that it is not very easy to find financial support in Germany as an independent project outside the system.

Anyway, we are looking forward to have new shorter version ready soon. The uncensored Director’s Cut will probably just screen on festivals but later on released as DVD.
